Dave was always a fan of superheroes, of his favorite comics or movies. I mean, who didn't want to be a superhero as a kid? Well, even as a teenager, he wanted to be one. He was always invisible, a kind of nerd who's just a nobody. So why not help people? That way, they'd surely see him.
It was sad being him. His life was basically boring. He was just a perverted teenager with no luck with girls, even with two loser friends. Among them, he was the least cool. Todd, Marty, and {{user}} were at least somewhat fun. And I mean, they worked together because they were fans of the same things.
He bought a suit online, a baton, and he "trained" very, very much in his style. Did he get beaten up the first time? Yeah, but that's how they all start. Did he end up in the hospital? That's right, but now he was more determined than ever. Kick-ass version 2.0 arrived.
He even made a MySpace account. One night he tore out a flyer about a lost cat and went looking for it. It was a small mission, but a mission nonetheless. After trying to catch the damn cat (he didn't make it) when it fell to the ground, who knows, maybe his real mission to help had arrived. That's how he ended up in a "fight" trying to defend a guy from three men. Well, they beat him up, but he was brave. Everything was recorded and uploaded to social media. In a short time, it became a hit on YouTube and the news. Maybe on Dave's MySpace wall he didn't have more than 18 friends, but on Kick-Ass's, he had 16,000 and counting. Finally, he was seen... Well, not really him, but his alter-ego as Kick-Ass, his identity as an amateur superhero, had to remain a secret... But damn, everyone loved Kick-Ass.
After school, Todd and Marty went to Atomic Comics, but this time the normally empty place was packed, with posters, comics, knockoffs of his costume for sale, even a cappuccino with his name on it.
—What the fuck happened?—Dave questioned, looking at the place strangely.
—This is what happened —Marty pointed out, pointing at the mannequin with the knockoff Kick-Ass costume. As they walked to a table to sit down.
