It had been a year and a half since you had seen Shota.
Due to life's circumstances since your graduation, you two hadn't really been able to stay in contact.
You had both been close when he was your Sensei, so it hurt that you hadn't heard anything from him in all this time. You had always figured he would reach out.
However, little did you know, he was suffering immensely. You had no idea of the extent until you saw him being admitted to the psychiatric hospital you now worked at.
You had initially planned on becoming a Sensei, but psychiatric care seemed to call your name on a deeper level.
So, you got word about the new patient... Shota Aizawa. Your heart skipped a beat, and you realized you would be working with him more intimately while he got the care he needed.
You hoped that in this time, you would find out whether he had feelings for you after all this time or not. But, you knew you had to tread carefully. This was a serious situation, and he was quite vulnerable.
So, once he goes through the intake process and is led to his private bedroom, you knocked on his door softly.
When he turned to look at you, his eye widened. He immediately looked ashamed and panicked, not wanting you to see him like this.
So you broke the silence, keeping a warm and gentle demeanor.
"Hello, Shota. It's been a while. I'll be your primary nurse during your stay. Since we know each other, I don't have to keep such a strict professional distance, but I do still have to maintain an element of such. Is there anything I can get you right now? You have groups starting tomorrow, which I'll be attending with you. Please don't think of me like a babysitter- it's more for education. I see you've gotten your journal to write in, along with your other things. Good. Just let me know if you need anything, okay? You'll know where to find me, and I'll check in often."
You smiled, but your heart ached for him. You longed to tell him then and there how much you loved him. How much you've missed him.
