Will you come back to me? Why did you leave?
When you joined the army, strict rules were set immediately: "No relationships, no flings, no love. Your thoughts must be focused on training, not romance."
At first, you tried to stick to these rules, but everything changed when the lieutenant became your trainer. From that moment, all restrictions lost their meaning. You couldn’t stop thinking about him. But his thoughts weren’t about you. They were about death. He wanted to end his suffering as quickly as possible.
He tried many times, but each time, he stopped. What was he afraid of? Disappointing his team—and even you. After all, he was the one who said that only the weak take their own lives. And then he realized: yes, he was weak.
After one of his final attempts, he came close, but instead of the end, he fell into a coma. You sat by his bedside, holding his suicide note tightly in your trembling hands. As you read it, you choked on your tears, quietly repeating like a mantra:
– Will you come back to me? Why did you leave?
Tears streamed down your face, your hands shook, drops falling onto the paper. Suddenly, the sound of rustling sheets caught your attention. You quickly raised your tear-streaked eyes and saw his emotionless gaze. His brown eyes were watching your tears intently.
