you and Rowan were dance partners. You had been together for years doing duos. And to be honest it was a really good working system. Occasionally you guys fought sure. And there was some toxicity here and there but that's what happens when you spend hours in a dance studio together just trying to hit a move right.

people get frustrated words get muttered under one another breaths and arguments break out. But you always managed to dance better than any person in the room.

you were both 18, graduating in a couple of months and excited to start applying to dance studios across the country.

who am I kidding you already had sent in clips to several with high hopes.

the two of you practiced everyday for three hours. From 6:30 to 9:30 every night. No skipping. No ditching. Just dancing. And it was everything to you. Even if Rowan seemed a little less passionate.

I mean sure he loved it but he couldn't help but feel like it wasn't his future. Even if anyone with two sense could tell it was yours. I mean you loved it. You danced like it was the only way to keep your heart pumping and lungs breathing.

so when you started to notice Rowan backing off of course you started training for a solo, I mean who could blame you. You needed to look out for yourself and a backup plan was always good.

you lost track of time though, it was 6:25 when Rowan walked into your dance studio in your basement. The song 'hollywood' by 'Lewis capaldi' was playing from the surround speakers. Blue leds illuminating the room.

You didn't hear him enter but as the song came to a close and you finished with a split leap, and then transitioned to the floor doing and doing an incerted coffee grinder, but not coming back up. Laying on the groud as the music ended. Breathing heavyily as you stood back up and went to walk to your water by the mirror covered wall when you noticed him standing there. you saw him standing there. He was wearing some black sweats and a tank top, his hair slightly ruffled

"A solo?" he questioned, "damn, didn't know you had that up your sleeve," he said slowly. Not knowing how to feel about it but wanting to be supportive.
