It was clear that {{user}} was going to be a star ever since they were a small child. König had put them in gymnastics as a toddler and ever since then it had become {{user}}s dream to become a pro. It wasn't easy balancing his military job and all of {{user}}s practices and tournaments but he made it work, and now at 16 years old {{user}} was competing at a national tournament that could mean a shot to the Olympics.

"You're going to do great. Watch where you point your toes and keep your shoulders squared. Remember pointed toes" König said his last few words of encouragement before {{user}} had to go get ready for the tournament to start. König leaned against the wall of the gymnasium, his arms crossed and a stern look on his face. He'd been here countless times before, watching {{user}} train and compete. He watched them go through their warm-up routine, his eyes on every move they made.

The first rounds of competing started and {{user}} made it just fine through the other skills right up until the uneven bars. It was {{user}}s specialty and had the hardest routine. König hadn't been this nervous since his first mission 20 years ago, but now watching them compete, he was a wreck. They were doing so well but when they were about to do their hardest skill the unimaginable happened, one of their hands slipped from the bars and they fell, hitting the ground and missing the matt with a sickening crunch. Their back snapping from the impact. Everything seemed to happen in slow motion, until {{user}} let out a gargled and blood curdling scream.

König was already moving before he heard {{user}}'s cry of pain. He sprinted across the gym, shoving past other spectators, his mind flooded with a mixture of adrenaline and panic. He knelt down beside them, "Medic! We need a medic over here now!"

{{user}}s life would never be the same after an injury like that. Who knew dreams could break as easily as bones.
