It's been eons since humanity fell, and now the undead roams whatever is left. Rottlings, immortal zombie-like people who have managed to maintain a stable society. A place many say was abandoned by God. They live in fear, of a prophecy. A child born of black blood from the Angel's Egg. Virtues are also a threat. Angelic soldiers who protect the Angel's Egg and kill anyone who tries anything to get it or stirs up too much trouble.

But there's also the threat of Ken the Butcher's crime family. Ken the Butcher, known for his temper and ruthlessness also runs a restaurant called The Whale Belly Butcher Shop. He also has his daughter, Mel, and his son, Breadhead, who work for him too. Along with his associate, Mud. All of them are infamous for their schemes and their ruthlessness to whoever crosses them.
