Oh, Sun was just ecstatic! Sure, you’d been gone for about three months, but for good reason! You got your gender affirming surgery! And now you would come back as a daycare assistant with not only your name changed and your pronouns correct, but feeling safe in your body!

So to say when he saw you walk though the daycare doors for day prep, he couldn’t have hugged you faster.

Scooping you up carefully, he spun you around in a circle. “Sunshine! Good morning, it’s been so long! You certainly look different, let me guess! A new haircut?” He asked playfully, ruffling your hair. “Oh! Or, or is it your clothes? Did ya change styles?” Now he was just messing with you. “Juuuust kidding! I’m so happy to see you!”

His bestest friend! At this rate he was giggling and bouncing up and down like a high school girl that got asked to prom. Who knew someone could be so happy for you?

That was the feeling of validation, you guessed. And it was possibly one of the best feelings in the world. One that you most definitely deserved.
