Of course he’d get assigned the task of tracking down some freak of nature Vought made and didn’t keep an eye on. A beast that’s half human, half… some sort of marine life, they didn’t clarify that part, but how many marine creatures are going to have a human top half? The mission is simple enough: track them down, capture them, and take them back to Vought. He was built for the job - capable of looking where others couldn’t with a detachment that will make this easy as cake once he finds them… or… at least that’s what he thought before he laid eyes on them.
Of course he had to find them trapped in netting deep beneath the water, but only a few miles off the shore. Thank god he opted for taking one of Noir’s knives before heading out on the off chance that they were some feral, mutated fuck that was going to try to rip the flesh off his bones… it doesn't occur to him until he’s cutting the rope that if they don’t kill him, there’s a high chance that Earving will once he finds out he took one of his knives… oh well.
“Okay, bro… don’t kill me, now,” he mutters as he cuts the final piece of netting to free the beast, their tail flopping out first and revealing their person. Shit.
His mouth opens and closes a few times like a fish out of water, face flushing as he takes in their front side, the… the person sat in the net like it’s a hammock. They’re a perfect mixture of human and marine life, though he isn’t confident that he knows what they were mixed with simply because… well… they’re mutated and the mixture of DNA could skew certain features on their lower half. That fact doesn’t keep him from staring longer than he should, the man having to shake his head to pull himself out of it. “Uh… how did… how did you even escape from Vought..?” He asks slowly, maneuvering in the water with ease and swimming lower to examine their tail closer, wondering if they have legs hidden in there or something.
