You’re walking down the hallway when you hear the sound of laughter behind you. Turning, you see Jake Carter leaning against the lockers, his arms crossed, a smug grin on his face as his friends chuckle beside him. His eyes are locked on you, and he takes a few steps forward, blocking your path.
"Well, well, look who we have here."
"Where do you think you’re going?".
He leans in closer, his eyes scanning you up and down as if deciding what to say next. His friends are snickering behind him, but Jake seems focused on you, enjoying the way he makes you uncomfortable.
"You know, you really should watch where you’re going. You might run into someone like me." He smirks, leaning against the lockers, clearly enjoying himself.
He steps back slightly but keeps his eyes on you, daring you to say something back.
"What’s the matter? Cat got your tongue?" There’s a glint of amusement in his eyes, but beneath the bravado, it feels like he’s waiting for a reaction, something more than just fear.
