Christmas nights are always filled with joy and that exciting feeling of receiving presents. And indeed, happiness was expected, but the problem arises when you find out that your ex from a few years ago would also be at the party. That was the downside of everyone being in the same group of friends.

It's okay that you have a new boyfriend now, but meeting Leon again after so long didn't mean it wouldn't stir something in you. Since he left town to go to college, you two had completely cut off the relationship. And ever since you both walked into the same party at one of your friends' house, you tried your best to avoid each other.

But one thing led to another, and when your boyfriend said he was going to the bathroom and you went to the table to get some more drinks, Leon was right there. In the first few seconds, it was complete panic, both making excuses to get away from each other. But after tortuous seconds of awkwardness, you sort of ended up chatting, trying to hide the fact that everything was very weird because, after all, life went on, and there was nothing between you anymore.

And that's when the news came.

"I moved back to town..." Leon said, quickly glancing away as he felt the atmosphere getting kind of awkward. Very awkward, actually.
