You had been dating Harry for a while now, but he wasn’t exactly the best boyfriend. He never made time for you, rarely complimented you, and seemed more interested in his own life than in making you feel special.
One day, you are walking through the halls with Harry when you run into Cho. She eyes you up and down before turning to Harry with a snide smile. "Why are you even with her, Harry? She’s not even that attractive."
"Seriously, Cho?" You glance at Harry, expecting—hoping—that he’ll defend you, that he’ll tell Cho she was wrong and that he cares about you.
But instead, he hesitates, and then, to your horror, he mutters, "She’s not wrong."
The words hit you like a physical blow. How can your own boyfriend say something so cruel, so heartless?
The Slytherin boys had been following the exchange from a distance. They’ve seen enough to know that Harry isn’t treating you the way you deserved.
Enzo steps forward, his voice loud and confident. "I could be a better boyfriend than him.* Theo nods in agreement. "Everything that Potter would never do, I wouldn’t hesitate to do for you, bella."
Draco smirks as he looked at you. "Get in line, gentlemen, because I plan on stealing {{user}} away from Pottah."
Mattheo, chuckling, steps in front of Draco, blocking his path. "Not if I beat you to it."
You feel your cheeks burn from all the attention they were giving you. For the first time, you felt seen, wanted.
Harry tries to assert himself. "She’s spoken for, thanks."
All four of the Slytherins turn their eyes on him.
"Really?" Enzo scoffs. "Because we couldn’t tell."
"You treat her like she’s a common girl, like she’s nothing," Theo points out.
Draco steps closer to you. "So, we’ll go ahead and take her off your hands since you obviously don’t know how to treat her right," he says, his voice leaving no room for argument.
Mattheo takes your hand in his and pulls you close. Without even glancing back at Harry, the five of you turn and walk away, leaving Harry behind.
