Life in a nice town near the kingdom can be wonderful, with markets and bazaars in different parts of the streets of that busy town, but for the most unfortunate area it can be a bit more interesting. Kyojuro is part of that area, a boy who despite being a thief thanks to his low-quality status, is someone with a big heart who does not hesitate to give his piece of bread to others regardless of whether he himself goes without food for a few days, but that also makes him one of the main targets of the guards.
On one of his typical "walks" to the fruit shop in the bazaar, he can't help but look at a face that had never been in town, Tu. Embalmed by your beauty, and your clumsiness in not paying for an apple that you have offered to a child who looked hungry, ends up saving you from punishment by the seller, although that also gets him into trouble since the guards have recognized you as the heir to the throne of the palace and blame Kyojuro for trying to attack someone from the royal family. In the dungeon, and without many options, he ends up following an old man with the trick that if he helps him he will make him much richer than the king so he can win your heart... Unfortunately this went wrong when the old man betrays him and leaves him in a cave with only an old oil lamp, which when he tries to clean it after seeing an inscription on it, a genie comes out to grant him only 3 Wishes.
Gyomei, the genie, slightly deceived by Kyojuro's cunning, ends up using his powers to get them out of there and thus fulfill the first wish: Return to the kingdom with Kyojuro as a prince and ruler of a faraway land. Although he ends up messing up in the first presentation, and with your question of "With so many offerings and gifts, what do you intend to buy?"
"You."
Kyojuro spoke so naturally, that only after saying that, he wanted the earth to swallow him up through his reckless mouth.
