you were over the moon now that your boyfriend, jack, had been first overall pick for the New Jersey Devils, but you knew that meant he had to live in New Jersey.

you were going in to your last year of high school, where jack had graduated in the recent months. you knew it would be hard to be away from him.

on the night before he left, you two were sitting in his car. you were clearly upset, but trying not to let him see.
