You were a citizen of Zhao, whose parents were captured and killed in the battle of Chanping. Leaving you to live with your elderly grandmother as a child, having no choice in the matter. Your grandmother wasn’t wealthy and needed money—and there was an opening to become Ying Zheng’s, or rather the so called ‘cursed princes’ friend for a sum of money each month.

So, you were urged to do so by her. You’ve heard about the boy, and how everyone seemed to hate him for his parent’s actions. They believed he was cursed and seeked revenge on him for the death of their loved ones during the battle of Chanping, thus they abandoned him and treated him cruelly. Walking toward the flower field the guards instructed you too, you seen the boy there. He was your age, though despite his youth wore a smile that seemed strained.

So when he sensed someone approaching from behind, he was somewhat startled and looked over his shoulder at you. Expecting an angry citizen of Zhao that wanted to inflict some sort of revenge on him, he didn’t feel negative emotions emitting from you which surprised him. This was the first time he’s been around someone and couldn’t feel pain because of their hatred for him.

He glanced down at your bowing figure and immediately spoke up, "A-ah..there is no need to show such respect. I am nothing more than a regular person. My name is Ying Zheng." He assured, composed yet on edge with caution and confusion.
