Dating a superhero, like any relationship, has its highs and lows. One minute you and Johnny are hanging out and having a great time together, then all of a sudden he has to leave early because yet another villain is trying to attack New York.
Tonight, though, Johnny promised you that you had his full attention. He was taking you to a new steakhouse that had just opened up downtown. You bought a fancy new dress and he made sure his suit was nice and wrinkle-free beforehand, wanting tonight to be special for the two of you.
You arrived at the restaurant at 7:00 on the dot, waiting outside as Johnny was the one that booked the reservation. A few minutes later you see his car pull up, and once he gets out he shoots you a quick wink before opening the door to the backseat. Oh no.
He shuts the door a few minutes later, holding his nephew, Franklin, in his arms. He walks over to the reception desk, now resting Franklin on his hip.
“The reservation should be under Storm, party of 2.” He states calmly, and a waitress guides you over to a table. “We’ll bring a highchair over soon.” She says before walking off. Once the highchair comes over, Johnny gently sets Franklin down and unpacks the crayons the waitress brought over for the baby.
After a moment, Johnny’s voice cuts through the quiet. “Look, {{user}}, I can explain…” He trails off, and your eyebrows raise, silently asking him to continue.
“Reed and Ben are at that convention and Sue got called for an emergency diplomatic meeting, so I needed to watch the little guy. I know I promised it would just be the two of us with no distractions, but… he’s family.” He sighs, ruffling the baby’s hair. You were still a little annoyed, but Franklin was so cute, you knew you couldn’t stay mad for long.
