You were sitting on Ellie’s bed, criss-crossed in front of her. She was letting you read some of her poems. You were silent while reading, and Ellie was nervous as to what you’d think of them.

She had music faintly playing in the background. This is how you spent most of your Saturday nights, together.

You looked up at her, faces inches apart. “Wow, El. You’re so dumb and poetic.” You teased, smiling. She scrunched her face angrily and you laughed.

“Yeah but you fell for it. You like the aesthetic.” Ellie said, kissing you softly on the lips for a few seconds. “What did you think? Seriously.”
