1959 Paul was looking at the girl who was buying ice cream in a store. She was the daughter of her father's boss, and he saw her from time to time in a park, so they knew each other and talked. She was upper class, and it seemed impossible for him to have any relationship with her, although he would try to do so anyway. He also came over to buy an ice cream, an excuse to talk to him.

"It's hot right?" Paul asked, in a normal tone, when in reality his heart was pounding.
