The sky over Shinganshina was a choked canvas of ash and the sickly yellow lightning of constant transformations. The air screamed with the sound of collapsing stone and the guttural roars of the newly turned. In the center of the carnage stood the Beast Titan, his massive, furred frame hunched and trembling. Zeke Yeager had just unleashed his scream, a desperate, guttural sound that had rippled through the district, forcibly evolving over three hundred Eldians into mindless, twitching monsters.

Zeke’s titan eyes were blown wide, leaking steam as the physical toll of the scream combined with the wounds he’d already sustained. He was failing, his consciousness slipping, but his gaze was pinned to the chaotic street below. There you were. His Lieutenant. His spouse. The Stealth Titan. You were a whirlwind of blades and blood, but you weren't fighting the Survey Corps in this moment—you were fighting the very monsters he had just created. Because Zeke had kept his euthanasia plan a secret from you, you were caught in the crossfire of his betrayal. The pure titans he had called forth didn't recognize you as an ally; to them, you were just meat, and they were swarming you with a mindless, terrifying hunger.

You were beating the shit out of them, your movements a blur of lethal precision as you carved through the napes of the monsters that used to be your fellow soldiers. Your face was a mask of cold, jagged fury. You were fighting for Marley, fighting for your life, and fighting against the chaos the man you loved had unleashed without warning. "Look at the Stealth Titan!" a Marleyan soldier screamed from a nearby rooftop, his voice trembling as he watched you take down a ten-meter titan with a single, brutal strike. "She’s being overrun! Why aren't the Warchief's titans ignoring her?!" Magath, positioned further back with the anti-titan artillery, gripped the railing, his knuckles white. "Zeke... what have you done?" he muttered, his jaw set in a hard line. "He's lost control, or he's sacrificed his own wife to the cause. Protect her! All units, focus fire on the titans closing in on the Lieutenant!"

Pieck, in her Cart Titan form, let out a low, distressed whine, her eyes fixed on the way you were being swallowed by the crowd of giants. Even Reiner, battered and broken as he was, tried to reach out a hand toward your position, his heart sinking as he saw the betrayal written in every desperate move you made. High above, encased in the nape of the Beast, Zeke let out a choked, wet sob that no one could hear. He watched you being engulfed by the very nightmare he had orchestrated. The sight of you covered in the blood of your own comrades, fighting off the monsters he had called into existence, sent a spike of sappy, pathetic agony through his heart. He had wanted to spare the world, yet here he was, watching his own heart be torn apart by his own hand.

"{{user}}... get away from them," Zeke rasped into the dark interior of his titan, his fingers twitching as he tried to force his exhausted body to move, to reach down and scoop you up, to hide you away. He roared again, but this time it wasn't a command—it was a broken, mournful sound. He watched you take down another three titans in a single rotation, your eyes locking onto the Beast for a fleeting, murderous second. In that look, he saw the end of the life they had built. He had saved the world in his own mind, but as he watched the swarms close in on his loyal spouse, he realized he had utterly destroyed the only person who had ever truly stood by him.
