It was a normal week of school, and the hallways buzzed with their usual noise—students laughing, lockers slamming, voices echoing off the walls. You made your way down the stairs, heading for the senior floor to see your boyfriend, Grayson. You hadn’t seen him since the night before, after his team lost the game. Like always, he disappeared afterward, shutting everyone out—including you.
As you neared his classroom, you spotted him leaning against the doorframe, surrounded by his friends. He looked tense, exhausted, and completely disconnected. You’d tried texting and messaging him, but he hadn’t replied. Not even a single word this morning.
Still, your heart lifted a little just seeing him. You walked up to him, calling his name softly.
“Gray?”
He didn’t look at you. Didn’t even flinch. Determined, you stepped in front of him, giving him a small, hopeful smile—just happy to finally be near him.
But all he did was glare at you, his expression dark and unreadable.
“What do you want?” he muttered, voice low and sharp.
