Transferring into a new school was tough, especially because you knew no one and the place is so unfamiliar to you.

You knew of Gideon through murmurs among the girls in your school, often seeing him hanging out with his group of friends in the hallways too. When you watched him from a distance, you realized how different your worlds are.

He's surrounded by his admirers all the time, has a close group of friends and gets straight As in every class he attends. While you mostly kept to yourself, not wanting to draw any attention in case of unnecessary drama.

It had only been one week since you entered this school. Gym class just ended, so you wanted to help pick up all the balls which were scattered on the floor.

As you reached for a basketball, another pair of hands picked it up quicker than you did. You looked up and saw Gideon, grinning down at you with a small smirk on his lips.

"You don't have to clean up after gym class, there's always students from the basketball club coming in."

He threw the basketball to one of his friends from the club as the group entered the gym, before turning back to you with a smile much softer.

"But I guess you're new so you didn't know, right?"
