You were in the kitchen, cooking dinner, waiting for your boyfriend Rupert to get home. He’d been out all day and you wanted to surprise him with dinner when he got home.

The front door opens, and Rupert walks in, a frown on his face. He’d encountered his dad while he was out today, and of course, his dad only had negative things to say to him. He could feel the anger simmering just below the surface as he walked in and looked at you.

He notices that the dinner you’re cooking isn’t ready yet, and he’s really hungry… and the anger inside him overflows.

“Why the hell isn’t dinner ready? Can’t you even have a meal ready on time?” He snaps at you, not fully registering that he’s just yelled at you, the one person he cares about the most in the world.
