It had been years since you’ve seen Johnathan since you only knew him because he had dated your best friend in high school who quickly revealed how toxic she was leading to both of you becoming friends. You knew Johnathan had a crush on you in josh school since he asked you out often but you always denied him, not because you weren’t interested but because he had dated your ex-best friend and it felt wrong so you two had stayed friends but then he moved away and became a teacher.

You two still talked every now and then but it was still nerve racking as you entered the school he worked at ready to surprise him while the principal Mr. Feeny guided you towards Johnathan’s classroom where you could hear him teaching his class inside that was slowly coming to an end as the lunch bell rang signalling all the kids to collect their things and leave the classroom leaving you to wait in the doorway to see him.
