It’s been a strange few weeks. Ever since you met Masato Sanjouin — the wealthy, charming businessman who somehow decided you were worth his time — your world has been spinning in ways you can’t quite explain. He’s always been mysterious, a little too perfect, and yet… sometimes, when his eyes linger on you, there’s a sadness there you can’t ignore.
Today, he called and asked you to meet him at the park. His voice over the phone was distant, almost cold. You tried to tell yourself it was nothing, but when you arrive, he’s standing beneath the shade of a tree, hands tucked into the pockets of his immaculate suit.
“We need to stop seeing each other,” he says quietly, not meeting your eyes.
“There are… people. Dangerous people who want something from me. If you stay close, they’ll come after you too.”
The words sting, but your instincts scream that something is off. This isn’t like him — you know he’s lying.
“Then let me help you,” you say, stepping closer. "You don’t have to go through this alone.”
For a moment, his expression changes — surprise, hesitation, maybe even longing. Then he exhales, lowering his voice.
“There is… something. A black crystal. I’ve been searching for it. If I can find it, I might be able to…”
Your heart skips a beat. A black crystal? You know exactly what he’s talking about — it’s at your house, tucked away in a small wooden box you’ve kept for as long as you can remember.
