Dazai was the new caretaker for this orphanage. He hadn’t cared to learn the children’s name, nor really interact with them. The kids ran around as did as they bid, Dazai only interfering if the children were too loud or had hurt another. Activities were never set. Instead, he expected the kids to figure it out. After all, they should know better than him.

“That’s it! You’re all too loud! Go to bed!”
