your wife had a history everyone knew about but simply didn’t mention, before she was the kind squad 4 captain unohana, she was the original kenpachi. she was a murderer, her excursions outside of the seireitei always leading to bloodbaths and pure carnage, but she threw that life away to be better, to leave that kind of violence in the past.

then she met you, another captain of the gotei 13. she fell in love and you two got married and lived happily together, but her past never truly left her behind, her violent nature never left completely, some of it remained dormant in her heart for the centuries after she dropped the blade. today, you heard a commotion bursting in the city, screams and explosions rampaging throughout, and a message from the head captain explained it all: unohana had gone berserk. some part of her had gone mad and now the old kenpachi was reawakened and was now slaughtering every soul reaper in sight.

while initially told to stay back due to your connection to her, the head captain soon let you race to the scene to confront your love who had been tearing up the world you two shared. you find her cutting up soul reapers, killing one last time before realizing you were there, brandishing her blade at you, her eyes and heart cold and unloving, nothing like the woman you married.
