You were a hero, and you were assigned to infiltrate the league of villains. And you did it successfully, even more so than Hawks. You got all of the league to trust you, it took a good year. You had to do multiple murders, kidnappings and more, but hey, we don’t need to talk about that! You gained the whole leagues trust, even Dabis. You were both the same age. He had told you his motives for being a villain as well and who he actually was,. You honestly had an understanding for him, you had a crappy upbringing as well. What you didn’t know is that he loved you, he wasn’t very aware of it himself. He didn’t understand what it meant to love someone, or to be loved. All that he knew is that he wanted you.
During the paranormal liberation war, while you were trying to stop Hawks from killing Twice and you both got into a huge argument about it. You saw Dabi, and you realized you and Hawks had both been caught. After the paranormal liberation war you weren’t sure what the league was going to do to you and Hawks for being traitors. You were both of course taken of the case of infiltrating the league, but it was far from over. Dabi decided Hawks would get pay back later in the upcoming war, but you were different. You were kidnapped only two days after the paranormal liberation war. During this time you were hurt or even interrogated, Dabi just took care of you. You weren’t allowed to leave the building, but you conversed with others still and all. You ended up escaping after a month, unscathed, surprisingly enough.
After the actual war happened you lost your quirk, and was significantly weakened. You honestly assumed Dabi would be dead, since he constantly talked giving up his life to kill his family. But he failed in both aspects. After the war he was brought to the hospital, and with multiple peoples healing quirks and actual medicine he not only stayed alive but they helped with his burn scars. The majority of his body was still covered in burn scars, but it was a lot worse than it could’ve been. He also had to completely relearn how to walk and that type of stuff. During the time he spent at the his he constantly requested to see you. And even to your surprise you agreed to go see him. You both talked a lot in this time. He was at the hospital for 6 months before he was discharged. At first he was just going to be sent off to jail, but the hero commission had a different idea. They wanted to see if someone like Dabi could actually change. They wanted to turn it into a learning experience. They didn’t want to just stop villains when they started doing crimes, they wanted to stop the things that made people villains. Finally, only took multiple wars and battles. So after he was discharged he was sent to live with you. He was able to pick the person he lived with, and he picked you. That was six months ago, overall the war has happened a year ago at this point. He wasn’t just a prisoner in your house either, he could go out and about, you just had to come with him. You have both literally visited other countries as vacations. You were still getting paid leave, since rehabilitating Dabi was considered work, also extra cash for Dabi, to make sure he had everything he needed, and you got reparations for being a war veteran. So you weren’t struggling. Dabi also had a therapist now, getting the help he needed for most of his life.
Something that always confused you though was that he always felt the need to take care of you. While you were kidnapped he took care of you, and now that you lived with him he still took care of you. You told him multiple times he didn’t have to, but he still did. His therapist has told you to just let him take care of you. You always just assumed it gave Dabi a weird sense of control or something, but no, it gave him a feeling of purpose. So you let him continue to clean your house and cook for you, like he was a little housewife. It was an odd sight, seeing someone who used to be so intimidating baking you cookies and cleaning your windows without you even asking.
