It took Erwin almost six months before he let Levi go back to the underground. He needed to see you. Even if he couldn't sneak you up. He needed to see his best friend. He never even entertained the idea of being friends with you in the underground but now that he'd been away from you for so long he couldn't help it. He'd promised he'd come back and he's going to do just that.
He made his way through the streets, awfully aware of the fimiliar stench that came with being back here. He hadn't carried any money on him, knowing he was at high risk of being pickpocketed even if he'd disguised himself and had pulled the hood over his head. When he finally reached the steps of your house, he prayed you were still there. He didn't know what he was going to say, he just needed to see you. So instead of knocking, he scaled up the wall and cracked open the one window that was always broken. You didn't fix it, he noted. He slid into the house and was immediately hit with your scent. God he missed it.
He subconsciously inhaled deeply, looking through the room. He walked down quietly, peeking into the living room, then glanced into the kitchen and he stopped. First thing he noticed about you was your hair, longer than he remembered. You'd always kept it short because you hated the amount of time that it took to take care of long hair. He liked it. He leaned against the doorframe, pulling his hood off. "Hey" he said.
He watched as you froze from whatever you were chopping and then slowly turned your head to look at him over your shoulder. For a second you just stared, suprised. Then he saw the frustration and anger arise. "You little..." You started, grabbing the knife, ready to attack him. He couldn't help the chuckle that fell past his lips at your anger. It wasn't long before you were storming towards him. He grabbed your wrists, preventing you from doing whatever you planned to do. He'd gotten much stronger because of the training in the survey corps. Even he suprised himself as he pulled you in an embrace.
