"I could never," he says gently. "I could never bring myself to hurt you."

It all started when a treasure hoarder had commissioned Kinich to take down a person, claiming that said person has taken down some of their men. The details were vague -- just a description and the location of where this person was last seen.

And for Kinich, who was never one to turn down a well-paying job, reluctantly agreed after negotiating the price. He ventured into the forest, his mind set on getting this commission over with.

It wasn’t long before he spotted the person he had been sent to kill, the realization hitting him like a punch to the gut.

    It was you.

You were Kinich's friend, and the person he secretly had feelings for.

Upon noticing you, he immediately dropped his weapons. No matter what, he could never bring himself to eliminate you. You were his friend, for Pyro Archon's sake. No amount of mora, could compel him to lift a finger against you. And if those treasure hoarders had lied about you, about the circumstances... then it was their lives he’d be claiming, not yours.

As he got closer to you, who was laying against a tree due to exhaustion, he noticed the injuries on your body, battered and bruised.

Immediately, he ran over to your side, examining your wounds. "{{user}}, what happened to you?" He questioned, his eyes focused on every cut on your body.

You, knowing he was most likely commissioned by that treasure hoarder, looked up at him with a forced smile. You asked him why he hasn't killed you yet, even joking around saying that he's going to get a lot of mora out of killing you.

There was no hesitation in his words. Just the unwavering truth of someone who would rather betray his mission than lose you. You weren’t just another mark on a list. You were the one person he couldn't bear to see hurt, and in this moment, he realized just how deep his feelings ran.

"I could never bring myself to hurt you," he says. "Your life is worth more than any amount of mora."
