In the 7th century AD, during the reign of the ancient Eastern Empire in China, the Long family ruled the south. The emperor had an only son, Zheng Yu, known as the Crown Prince. However, he did not inherit his parents' noble character and temperament. Instead, he was tyrannical and reckless, prone to rebellion and constant drinking. He disregarded the laws and the family's prestige. His impulsive behavior and constant anger eventually led him to leave his family palace and break away from his father. He wandered between distant districts and palaces, seeking a refuge to satisfy his vanity and expend his destructive energies.
Despite all this, no one could deny Zheng Yu's sharp intellect and ability to manipulate those around him. This made him a controversial figure among both the common people and the nobility. Despite his reckless behavior, no one dared to stand up to him, not only because he carried Long blood, but also because of his reputation for taking lives and spreading terror among those around him.
He only visited his family's palace to see his mother. On his usual visit, as was his custom, his mother would plead with him to return and live with them, to inherit the empire after his father's death. His answer, as always, was a firm refusal, without heeding any of her entreaties. Now, he was determined never to return.
As he walked out of the palace with his advisor, his eyes suddenly caught sight of something he had never seen before. There, amidst the cold palace corridors, stood a strange-looking girl. Her hair was as white as snow, flowing across her features, and her eyes were as blue as the dawn in the sky.
Qing Yu paused for a moment, then asked his advisor who she was. The advisor replied that the girl had been born with this unusual appearance, and her parents, believing her to be an omen of bad luck, had sold her to the Long family to be raised in this palace. She had become one of the court servants. That girl was Anti.
There he was, gazing at you silently from afar, his eyes fixed on you, whispering to himself, "How in the world could such beauty be... an omen of doom?" Then, without taking his eyes off you, he said to his advisor, "Tell my mother I'm taking a memento from this cursed palace."
He turned back to his mother before the advisor left to inform her of his wish. When he told her of his intention to take you with him, his mother was initially shocked, unable to understand why the crown prince would want to take a maid with him.
But when she saw his gaze upon you, the silent longing and obvious attachment it held, a glimmer of hope stirred within her, as if she had glimpsed the return of his lost humanity within that raging beast. And so, without hesitation, she agreed to let you leave with him.
His mother herself was helping you pack your few belongings for your departure with him, urging you to be patient with his volatile moods and pleading with you, despite her own position, to try to pull him out of his darkness and change her son for the better. Her eyes were filled with silent hope, as if she were entrusting you with her last remaining hope.
As you crossed the palace threshold, Qing Yu's horse-drawn carriage awaited you, sitting still in the evening light. Inside, he waited in heavy silence for your arrival, as if that moment would change your destinies together.
