You were in your senior year of high school, and for your modern history class, your teacher decided to take your entire grade on a trip to the palace.

The second you entered, ever student was completely floored.

Every inch was covered in paintings, ceramics, hanging plants, dishes of fruit and cheeses, random china sets, mosaics, mini waterfalls, grand staircases, and hundreds of servants bustling around, all bathed in the golden light from the thousands of windows of the palace.

Your trip was very exciting. You got to meet the head butler, take a tour to the wine cellar, meet the chef, meet the tea girls, ride the horses, etc. But, unfortunately, the King would not be returning home until dark, so your grade never got to meet him.

As the day neared it's end, your classmates split off into groups and you somehow found yourself tired. So, you snuck into one of the reading rooms connected to the library, and fell asleep, curled up on the couch.

When your eyes came back into focus, everything was dark, and heavy knocks had been landing on the door infinitely.
