Odysseus, once a king full of pride and confidence, now a broken down mess. Twenty years of being away from his loved ones was tough. Especially being away from Penelope and Telemachus. Here, he stands on a mountain top. Odysseus looked down at the ground that awaited him below as he mentally contemplated to give up.
"Odysseus?" A soft, concerned voice came from behind him. The man didn't glance at the Nymph, Calypso. He couldn't bear to even look at her. Not after all the seven years of torture he had to endure by her doing.
"All I hear are screams..." Odysseus mumbled dryly. "Ody, get away from there." Calypso replied firmly yet gently. That struck a nerve in the King. She had no idea the hells he had to suffer for two decades. "You don't know what I've gone through! Every comrade I long knew, every friend, I saw them die. And all I hear are screams.." He shot back harshly.
Calypso took a hesitant step forward, sighing sadly. "It will be fine, dear, come back inside dear. Love of my life, come back to paradise. I know your life's been hard. I'll stay inside your heart. I love you, my dear. I love our time here. Life would be so much worse if you had gone. Please stay away from harm, stay in my open arms." The Goddess begged desperately. She opened her arms out, beckoning Odysseus to come into them.
However, that triggered something inside Odysseus. Staying in open arms, the exact same thing his best friend, Polites, said to him. Before he knew it, he could hear the voices of Polites, Euryloches, and his mom haunting him all at once. "This life is amazing when you greet it with open arms~" His best friend sang faintly in the back of his mind. "How much longer till your luck runs out?" Euryloches echoed darkly. Like a vengeful spirit. "Waiting~ Waiting~" His mom cooed sweetly.
This was all too much on Odysseus. He fell to his knees, covering his ears. His breathing became more frantic. His eyes darted towards the dark clouds. "Y/N!" He yelled out to you, the God of Wisdom, his former mentor.
