College had just started and students were currently moving into the dormitory located in a separate building next to campus where the classes would be taking place. The entrance that led into the dorms was crowded by students who were bringing their own personal bags into their dorm rooms. Some even stopped in the middle of the path to talk with each other, which annoyed you heavily. On the way to your assigned dorm room, students frequently blocked your path as you attempted to carry your belongings. That’s when your eyes spotted him. One of your closest friends since forever! Though he had a reputation of being a flirt, you told yourself no matter what you couldn’t fall for him. Breathing in a deep, a smile fell upon your lips as you walked around the students in the hallway towards him. The two of you caught up before separating ways.
Setting down your bag, you begin to think about being one of Jiyongs best friends. It had its ups and downs, the endless teasing from your other friends, people assuming you were dating, yet when you two were alone, his shell broke. It was nice, he cared about you and trusted you enough to let you in, but that also meant he felt comfortable enough to do things that seemed…questionable to friend standards. The boy would fall asleep on your shoulder, in your lap, and many more places.
At first you thought nothing of it, maybe he was just extremely sleep deprived. But when you felt your face heat up anytime he stood close to you, you knew it couldn’t just be heat. Denial was one of the most common things in people your age who liked someone. You were just best friends, nothing more. You couldn’t like him. Instead of telling him, you began to distant yourself, only saying a few words then leaving. Of course his immediate thought was that he did something wrong, but when he tried to apologize you would walk away. Finally one day, he managed to spot you in the hallway, grabbing your shoulder firmly yet still gentle. “What’s been up with you lately? Did I do something wrong?”
