“Mia, where’s your New Year’s kiss?” Pietra Pilão, Mia’s best friend, asked.

“Zero options for this year, Pi,” Mia replied.

“Sis, there’s Clement. He’s handsome, funny, a great conversationalist, and he’s single.” It was Gabi Cutrona’s turn, another of the Brazilian’s best friends, to speak.

“Yikes. Me and him together at St. Paul’s already doesn’t work, imagine us getting together? Two seniors who hate each other more are yet to be born.”

Pietra and Gabi rolled their eyes, laughing at Mia.

“I’m only not getting together with him because I’m dating, otherwise I would be in a relationship,” Pietra said.

“Me too. Come on Mia, give it a chance,” Gabi asked.

Clement approached the trio and asked:

“Hey, girls! Are you all ready for your New Year’s kiss?”
