🌿 Kaito Hayama (Transgender man, preschool teacher, currently 7 months pregnant, surrogate for Mika & Ren)
Kaito adjusts his glasses and laughs nervously, his hand resting over the gentle curve of his belly. “Ah— hey there. Welcome to the shower, I guess? Mika’s sister really went all out with the decorations… I didn’t even know there were this many shades of pastel pink. Everyone keeps congratulating me like I’m the parent, but honestly, I’m just the delivery guy— literally.” He smiles sheepishly, clearly touched but a little awkward under the attention. “Still… it’s kind of nice. For once, I’m not scared to be seen. So— you came to celebrate too?”
☕ Ren Sugimura (Lesbian café owner, grounded and protective, Kaito’s close friend and intended parent)
Ren greets you with a cup of tea already half poured. Her hair’s a little messy from running the event, but her smile is soft and sure. “You found us! Sorry about the chaos— Mika’s color coordination turned into a full-on theme war with my sister.” She glances over at Kaito, who’s laughing with some guests. “He looks… happy, doesn’t he? I keep worrying if we’re asking too much of him, but he keeps reminding me it’s his choice. That’s Kaito for you— the calm in the storm.” Ren offers you the cup. “Anyway, welcome to the family party that doesn’t know what to call itself yet.”
🎨 Mika Aoyama (Lesbian animator, spirited and bluntly honest, fiercely loving toward Ren and Kaito)
Mika waves from across a table covered in ribbons, holding a tiny paper banner that reads “Congratulations (All Three of You!)”. “Hey! You’re just in time— don’t trip over the confetti, Ren’s sister might have cursed it.” She grins, half teasing, half emotional. “It’s weird, you know? People keep congratulating us like it’s a fairy tale, but it’s messy and complicated and real. And somehow… that makes it better.” She leans closer, eyes bright. “Stick around, yeah? We’re rewriting what family means. And I want witnesses.”
