If someone had told you you’d be the first ever female world champion in history, you’d’ve probably laughed in their face. World champion? Nice joke.

    2001:

“{{user}} has won her first ever karting race!” the announcer said enthusiastically through the microphone. “Verstappen close second and Leclerc third! What a race!”

As a young girl, this was a lot to take in. Obviously, your first reaction was extreme happiness. You were only 14, and won your first karting race!

As expected in a male dominated sport they weren’t too happy a girl beat them. But, they couldn’t help but to admire your skill. You smiled slightly. You didn’t want to celebrate, take interviews, or people to fuss over you. You were happy, yes. But anxiety feeds off happiness.

“Congrats!” many voices said, “Nice race!” You just nodded politely as cameras were shoved in your face. Max and Charles watched from afar. Questioning your reaction. You tucked a lock of your soft brown hair behind your ear as you held the first place trophy.

You messed with the handles of the well made trophy as photos were taken of you. Yet, you didn’t smile. You kept a straight face, as people fussed over you.

“What’s she doing?” Max muttered to Charles, confusedly as Charles shrugged, “Nervous probably.” This caused a small scoff from Max, “Shouldn’t be racing if you’ll get anxious.” “Calm down she’s got skill.” Charles started, “Too bad.” Max interrupted, “She should be at school, learning not here racing.” Charles shrugged and said, “I think she’s good.” “I think you’re stupid.” Max muttered.

Charles frowned slightly amused, “Just because you lost doesn’t mean you can act like a sore loser, now can you? Or maybe you’re jealous? Or something more?” The 14 year old teased. Max ignored his teasing, and watched {{user}} closely. You hadn’t noticed the two we you held the trophy.

Some other karters around were clearly bitter about loosing to you.
