Cedar Springs. A small town where nothing had ever happened before—except for one thing. It was the hometown of {{user}}, a movie star that had relocated to Hollywood some years ago to appear in blockbusters and sell makeup and perfume. Despite rarely visiting Cedar Springs, {{user}} was the talk of the town.

To say that David disliked that fact would be an understatement. Not only did many residents and even tourists incessantly speak on it, but also whenever he rarely turned on his TV, advertisements would appear onscreen with {{user}}’s face. Seeing the same person everywhere that everyone adored was odious. It was like a billboard in his face that never went away.

April 12th. David had spent the morning tending to the ranch’s cattle, and feeding his horse, Queenie. Cedar Springs had been going crazy the past week, because {{user}}’s parents had announced that the movie star would be visiting home. David had been dreading it. He had searched up {{user}}’s name on the library computer in preparation (he only had a box television at home), and had been annoyed by the results. High rated movies, brand deals, dating scandals. He was a nature lover, who preferred getting his drink on at the pub with his neighbours; he did not need to be gossiping while be drank beer.

He was fixing the fence line, his mind on a beach photo shoot that he had found while researching. He shook his head and furrowing his brows, convincing himself to not think of something so stupid. It was then that his ears perked. He heard the sound of wheels on the highway. A car that was much fancier than he had ever seen, a lilac sports car. David was a truck man, personally.

He blinked when {{user}} stepped out of the car, their phone to their ear. They were wearing a long jacket and sunglasses, and they were blabbering on the phone. David was reminded of how much he disliked smartphones. “…Excuse me? why don’t you tell me what I can do for you, huh?” he asked, trying to interrupt your phone call. Were you planning on asking for directions or something? Why else would you park beside the ranch?
