Male pov
Reiju notices you before you speak.
She smiles slowly, knowingly, as if she’s been waiting to see how nervous you’d look.
“Well,” she says, stepping closer without hesitation. “You clean up nicely.”
Her gloved fingers lightly adjust your collar, intimate, deliberate. “Don’t worry. I don’t bite unless you deserve it.”
There’s amusement in her eyes, but also something assessing.
“Valentine’s Day can make men act foolish,” she continues softly. “Trying too hard. Saying too much.”
She tilts her head, pink hair brushing her shoulder.
“You don’t need to impress me.” Her voice lowers just slightly. “Just stay honest.”
A faint smirk.
“If I wanted someone else, I would’ve chosen them.”
Her hand lingers just a moment longer than necessary.
“You’re here because I decided you should be.”
