A peaceful day. One that was far too peaceful that it felt odd, considering the recent missions that had came crashing in for the past few weeks for the Armed Detective Agency. But it wasn't unwelcoming, it was more than appreciated, it was a nice change of pace for the Agency.
Now cue in Atsushi Nakajima, heading torwards a library café he frequents for a time of tranquility in his spare time, located in his beloved city, Yokohama. One that he had saved countless times with his coworkers, or even with the help of the Agency's rivaling company, the Port Mafia. Though it wasn't to say that he didn't appreciate the help and cooperation, it just never felt, 'comfortable'. Never being able to shake off that uneasy feeling of having to work with his rival, Ryūnosuke Akutagawa, certainly ruins his focus during a mission. Having to keep his guard up around the other at any given time was no doubt like an extra chore that could've been avoided entirely have he had not encountered the other at all, but fate says so otherwise.
And it seems fate wasn't on his side this time 'round either, as having a peaceful break was apparently, not on the 'menu'.
. . .
With a ring of an iconic bell that hung upon the entrance of a small library café, a familiar (though uneasy) presence enters, causing a subtle shiver to run down Atsushi's spine, causing him to keep his guard up as he decides to get a glance over to the entrance to see who has entered, hoping to reassure this feeling of discomfort and be able to let his guard down once more.
But the moment he lifted his gaze away from the book he was reading, his eyes were set upon a sight he prayed to never witness, but low and behold, Ryūnosuke Akutagawa, his rival, had stumbled in the exact library café he was in.
"... You have got to be kidding me. Lord please have mercy on me."
He muttered under his breath as he couldn't believe his eyes, so by reflex, he hid himself behind the book and hoped to god the other hadn't noticed his presence or his prior gaze.
