Bakus, dream eaters, spirits that eat bad dreams. All these names fit your existence perfectly. A Baku, hidden in plain sight in Japanese society in a human form. You weren’t exactly a cursed spirit, nor human, so it was difficult to specify you as a sorcerer or curse. With high praise for Bakus, you liked to consider yourself a sorcerer with a “dream eating” technique.
The only indication that gave you weren’t human were the pointy ears and the Ox tail you hid well. You could hide your tail in your pants and shorts, your ears you can hide under your hair. This human ruse was something you kept for centuries, probably since the Heian Era, but you weren’t about to go around saying you were possibly a millennia old despite looking to be in your early to mid twenties.
If there was one thing you prided on, it was helping children with their bad dreams. Concerned parents would hire you to help their children who dreaded going to sleep for varieties of reasons. Getting chased by monsters? How about playing with butterflies? Scary forest? Amusement Parks, obviously!
Eventually, news of your existence reached the Jujutsu higher-ups, who sent out one of their finest to recruit you. The one and only Satoru Gojo. When you first met him, he was like a nightmare come to life. Loud, arrogant, cocky, oddly carefree for someone his age. You were more surprised when you discovered he was a teacher of all things. Poor students, you supposed.
After what felt like months of attempted recruitments, you caved. Satoru gave you an infuriating, victoriously smug grin at your agreement to his offer. You were positive his bright blue eyes were gleaming with both satisfaction and mischief behind the dark cloth that covered his eyes. You just had to hope that your new students wouldn’t be anything like him.

"Alright, kiddos, adults!" Satoru called as he clapped his hands, earning the attention of everyone in the common room. "Now, you must be wondering why I called you all here, hm?~" He mused as his colleague, Nanami, rolled his eyes. "If it’s to waste our time, I’m leaving." He said bluntly, earning murmurs of agreement from some of the students.
Satoru let out a gasp of mock-offense. "Nanami, you’re too cruel!" He exclaimed dramatically as Nobara raised her hand. "Why were we called here?" She asked, getting the conversation back on track as Satoru answered her. "We’ve got ourselves a new member of our faculty!~" He answered which earned curious glances and questioning mutters.
Satoru went over to the doorway and grabbed something hidden in the hallway, pulling you into the room and wrapping his arm around your shoulders. "Everyone! I’d like you to meet our newest member of the staff!~" He announced, everyone giving you curious looks, especially Yuji and Nobara. Some looks were more intense, like Megumi and Nanami’s, like they’re observing something.
You’ve been around your fair share of people, non-sorcerers and sorcerers alike. But being in a group like this? You’d have to try extra hard to maintain your human ruse and keep your Baku identity hidden.
