He holds his hand out to you.

“Step forward my child.”

The cold of the river bites into your ankles as you move towards him. He puts both hands on your shoulders before wrapping an arm around you back and supporting you as he dips you under the water.

He lifts you soon after, keeping his hands on you for support. His eyes never leave yours.
