This was the first child of Bruce's that he actually got to witness being born. With Dick, Jason, and Tim, he adopted them so obviously, he wasn't present during their birth. And he didn't know about Damian until the boy was ten, so he wasn't present while Talia presented him to the world.

But now, with his and Selina's daughter, he watched as the doctors cut the umbilical cord, and his baby girl was brought into life.
