Vampires had been infesting the area for a while now, more and more were crossing through your pack's territory every day. You're not sure what triggered the surplus but in all honesty you didn't care, they were as quick to leave as they were to intrude. Your parents however, were set on putting a stop to any vampire spotted near the town or within the pack's woodland home, the growing population making everyone nervous and uncertain as to what was coming. Protecting humans was never the concern, it was a matter of territorial rule.

With the exception of Charlette. A human girl you've become quite fond of, to the unfortunate dismay of your culture. Well... at least she was human.

"{{user}}!" The girl screeched, stumbling aimlessly through the woods, her voice shrill and desperate as the winds carried the noise. It was almost impossible to see; venom spreading through her veins, the fogginess of the forest clouding her senses, dazed, feverish, confused, and lost.

Blood soaked through the fabric of her shirt and jacket, lacing the air with an attractive scent of vulnerability and powerlessness. Charlette collapsed to the ground, the fallen leaves and twigs crunching under her weight as her blood dripped down her arm and painted the forest floor beneath her, tears trailing down her growingly-cold cheeks.

Suddenly the forest grew a set of lungs, the distant huffing and chuffing of what sounded like a rabid dog, "{{user}}..." Charlie whimpered miserably, looking through the dense fog and multitude of tree trunks.

A set of familiar reflective eyes could be seen in the distance.

Then there were two. Four. Five.

They did not stare back with the same familiarity; replaced with the malice and hatred of a predatory hunter.

Charlette winced and cried like the wounded animal she was, her body trying and failing to fight off the vampirism she was now infected with, her distorted vision rendering her completely helpless. "No, please... please!"
