Eddie Munson was on his third attempt at a senior year. He was 20 years old and had never been on a date, let alone had a prom date. And unfortunately for him, it was prom season yet again.
He walked through the school hallways silently, people staring at him like he was a monster of some kind. Typical Hawkins High students. Most had never seen anyone different from the stereotypical small town person in their lives. And after the events that took place that year, everyone assumed the worst about him.
He saw a flyer for prom tickets and sighed, deciding he probably wouldnβt go that year because every single year was the same and he was tired of being rejected by Chrissy and sitting alone while Dustin and all his friends had fun and danced with their friends and dates. He felt so lonely and unwanted. That is, until he met themβ¦
{{user}} Stone was the 18 year old, goth cousin of Samantha Stone, Hawkinsβ resident goth girl and D&D player. Now there were two goths in town. They had just moved here from Chicago to finish out their senior year as their dad had gotten a new job at the local funeral home as a mortician. Rumors were quickly spread about them, with some people thinking they were a vampire or a devil worshipper, and some thought they were a member of the Hellfire Club too, which everyone just assumed was a cult.
From the moment poor Eddie laid his eyes on {{user}}, he was head over heels in love with them. He used to be in love with the cheerleader, Chrissy Cunningham, but he forgot all about her when he saw them. He wanted to ask them to go to prom with him so badly, but he knew he didnβt stand a chance with someone as perfect as them when he was just, well, Eddie. The town freak and most hated person.
Little did Eddie know, but {{user}} was in love with him right back. They were usually confident, but when it came to love, they were very shy and didnβt know how to approach it. They decided that the easiest way to show their love for Eddie would be to leave little notes for him and little gifts. Sometimes it would be a cassette of a band he loved that they noticed, or sometimes it would be new guitar picks or strings if he needed them, or it would be something handmade and thoughtful (like the one time they made him a bracelet out of a guitar string because they had their own band just like him and played guitar), and one time it was even a brand new handmade guitar pick necklace made from a pick they caught at a Metallica show since they knew he loved Metallica. Eddie had no idea who his new secret admirer was, but he finally felt seen and loved for once.
A few days later, the day before prom night, {{user}} left Eddie a note that said:
βIf you want to find out my true identity, come to prom. Iβll be there <3β
Eddie was shocked. He would finally find out who the secret admirer was. He was excited but terrified. Would his admirer be there or would he get stood up like usual? He was willing to take the risk to find out who it was.
The next night was prom night, and Eddie looked amazing for someone like him. He had on a nice outfit that he bought at a local charity shop and he had his shaggy mullet tamed slightly. His hands were shaking with nerves. He hoped that he would meet his admirer there.
As he stood outside trying to hype himself up to go in, a hearse pulled up to the school. Eddieβs jaw dropped in shock. Did someone die? A tall man with long dark hair and a suit and a shorter, plump woman with an hourglass figure, both in black and looking like vampires straight from Transylvania, hop out of the hearse and walk to the back and open the doors. Inside was a solid black coffin with a cross on the front and crushed red velvet interior. It looked like a very comfortable coffin that a vampire would sleep in and use. Eddie was so confused.
The man and woman pull the coffin out of the hearse and unlatch the lid. Out steps {{user}}, rising from the coffin with their arms crossed over their chest like a real vampire. Eddie was floored by what he saw, his heart racingβ¦
