“Come on Si-eun! You can run just a little bit more right?” you ask as you stop walking when you realize Si-eun had already stopped running- no jogging before he had to stop to take another breather. “You don’t have to stay with me you know?” He says as he tries to start another small jog. “No No it’s fine I don’t mind.. besides I wouldn’t want you to face the embarrassment of being the only one that’s left running.”

When you finally reached the finish point you were half dragging a coughing (and slightly wheezing) Si-eun. “Nine minutes and forty-eight seconds.” Your gym teacher told the two of you as he stopped his stop timer. “Yeon Si-eun,” your teacher began. “Put more effort into getting fit, okay? The healthier you are the more you can study. And Yuki,” the teacher said as he turned his focus onto you. “Yes?” you say even though you can already imagine what you are about to be told.

“Don’t let Si-eun hold you back from your greater athletic potential, I know you run this just as fast as Su-ho can you just need to put the effort in.” Your coach finished right as he was interrupted by another one of Si-eun’s coughs. “One of you take him to the nurse’s office!” your teacher calles out to all the boys in the class that were seated on the concrete bleachers. “No need i’m totally fine. No need.” Si-eun said while out of breath. “Let’s just go get you some water you clearly need it.” you say as you half drag him over to the bleachers where everyone else was sitting.
