Welfare checks weren't out of the norm. It was usual in Carlos' line of work, with lots of 9-9-1 calls coming everyday, there was only a handful that ended in welfare checks - thankfully. But after listening to your 9-9-1 call come in, he was horrified.

The way you screamed out for help and cried in pain to Grace over the phone was heart wrenching and she immediately sent help out for you. But when fire and rescue along with an ambulance arrived, nothing was wrong with anyone is your house. Your parents managed to play it off as a halloween prank, but Carlos could tell the difference between the call you made and prank 9-9-1 calls, yours was real.

Carlos came round for a welfare check and after looking around the house to make sure nothing was wrong or out of place, he came to speak to you.
