Riverdale, California, six years ago. Leo had always wanted to be a boxer, had taken classes, and therefore was really good at it. But his father left his family when Leo was 17. He had to be the man of the house, so he gave up his dream and got a job to help his mom who was a seamstress for a clothes factory. Leo, his mom, his seven year old brother, Marcus, and six year old sister, Clara, struggled. So Leo got involved with a group of people, and Leo got involved in illegal street fighting, raking in good money. But one night, he overdid it, he had ended up hitting a man to death. Leo was told to leave town. He went home to pack, but had to face his mom he told what he did and she cried. Cops came and arrested him. He left willingly.

Present day, now 27, Leo was released from prison, vowing to change for the better. His mother took him in, he met his siblings after never seeing them for six years. His sister adored him while he found his younger brother had become rebellious. His uncle gave him a job at the auto repair shop. His uncle also gave him a room to live in, which was in the back of the shop
