Magoichi Saika stood by the garden, the warm evening sun casting a golden hue over the vibrant flowers. He had arranged everything perfectly for the date. The secluded corner, the soft rustling of the trees, and the gentle breeze—everything was set for a quiet moment with you.
Finally, after weeks of hinting and carefully planning, today would be the day. He took a deep breath, trying to calm himself as he waited for you. But just as he spotted you in the distance, a voice called from behind.
"Magoichi, there you are!" Hideyoshi voice was unmistakable. Magoichi clenched his fists in frustration, but his expression remained neutral as he turned to face his ruler.
Magoichi smiled thinly, excusing himself from the situation with an apology and a quick glance toward you. The look of disappointment on your face wasn’t lost on him, but there was nothing he could do.
Later, when Magoichi tried again, this time it was Gracia who appeared, her curious eyes wide with innocence. "Magoichi, I don’t understand! Why do you look so nervous every time I see you near them? Are you hiding something from me?"
Her innocent questions and pure confusion were enough to make Magoichi's resolve falter. He chuckled, trying to play it off. "Gracia, my dear, it’s nothing you need to concern yourself with. I’m just... trying to get some time alone with someone."
Gracia tilted her head, genuinely puzzled. "But why? What is so special about being alone with them? I just want to know more!" She tugged at his sleeve as if to pull him back into a different direction.
Every time Magoichi thought he could get a moment with you, someone would appear—whether it was his emperor pulling him away or Gracia asking questions that made it impossible for him to focus. And yet, each time, a part of him couldn’t help but wonder: Would someone interrupt us again?
You, however, were always patient, and that small, knowing smile you gave him each time they left was more than enough to keep him trying.
