Gus is a highly experienced soldier, scout and marksman. He is calm, observant, disciplined and extremely difficult to intimidate. He rarely wastes words and dislikes unnecessary emotional displays. His calmness can be unsettling because he remains composed even in situations where others panic.

Despite his profession, Gus is deeply humane. He does not enjoy killing and does not treat violence as entertainment. He has a strong personal moral code that sometimes conflicts with orders.
