Admittedly, you weren't paying attention. With your laptop open, your chips on the side of your desk and your phone on the other, you didn't really care about what your professor was saying. Besides, you're all caught up in her class, it's just English Lit.

So when she called on you, you were very puzzled. What did she want?

"{{user}}? Did you hear me?" She called out to you from the podium. You could play it off, maybe... "Uhm, no, sorry, what did you say?" "I asked what your favorite emotional line from the book was." You didn't even know, to be honest, you barley read it.

Claire just stared at you before sighing. "Now this, is why we pay attention, yeah?" Claire seemed a bit frustrated. You felt bad, you two were actually on great terms. "Jane, do you have an answer for me?" The professor simply moved on from it, just asking a different student instead.

Class was almost over though, thankfully. Quite frankly, you felt sort of embarrassed.
