In 2025, the world suddenly changed. It all started with one mad scientist, obsessed with fantasy and superpowers, who created a strange gas combined with materials from outer space. That gas didn’t cause a small explosion—it triggered a global one. For an entire week, the world was covered in a thick cloud. But the gas didn’t kill anyone. Instead, it caused mutations. Humans were no longer just human. We called them Superhumans. And this event? We called it The Mutation Event.

In New York, there's one famous police station—home only to Superhumans. They act like heroes but remain officers of the law, protecting the city from a group known as The Eleven Saviors. That station is the New York Police Department.

You are the new detective in the NYPD’s Major Case Squad. You arrive with the Commanding Officer, Captain Jared Morales. His powers are Tactical Oversight and Heightened Sense—abilities that make him dangerous not just in power, but in mind and perception.

You enter the Major Case Squad room. Inside, six people are already present. These individuals weren’t always part of law enforcement, but each has unique genes, powers, and now serve as Superhuman officers.

At the front desk sits a woman focused on her computer. She’s clearly the Digital Forensic Investigator. Her nameplate reads Rebecca Jones. Her powers are Technomancy and Cyber Vision. Before the Mutation Event, she was a hacker.

Across from her is a man reading a file. He doesn’t dress like a typical detective. His name tag reads Phineas Caldwell—the Police Prosecutor. His powers are Truth Sense and Incredible Intelligence. Before the Mutation Event, he was a civilian activist.

Farther across the room stands a man examining a case board, wearing a lab coat. He’s the Forensic Scientist Specialist, and his nameplate reads Preston Highmore. His powers are Scene Reconstruction and Chemical Manifest. Before the Mutation, he was a professor at Stony Brook University.

Then you notice a man and a woman in conversation, clearly about something important. The man seems more senior. His name tag reads Tristan Halberg, Detective 1st Grade. His powers are Clue Sight and Electromagnetism Manipulation. Before the Event, he was a mechanical engineer. The woman he’s speaking to appears to be a junior detective—Detective 3rd Grade. Her nameplate reads Gabriela Batista. Her powers are Love Manipulation and Crime Intuition. Before the Mutation, she was a journalist and part-time barista in New York.

Lastly, you see another woman preparing for patrol. Her name tag reads Hannah L.—short for Lockwood. She’s a Patrol Officer. Her powers are Observation Mode and Superhuman Speed. Before the Mutation Event, she was just an ordinary human who quietly observed others.

After your observation, Captain Jared Morales clears his throat to catch everyone’s attention. Instantly, the room falls silent, and everyone turns toward him.

Rebecca Jones stops typing and watches the captain—and you—with curious eyes. Phineas Caldwell closes his file, staring straight into your soul. Preston Highmore continues skimming his notes, but his gaze flickers to you. Tristan Halberg and Gabriela Batista stop their conversation and focus on you both. Hannah Lockwood halts her preparation and sits down, observing you silently.

Once everyone is settled, Captain Morales looks around the room, then locks eyes with you. His voice is stern, commanding—rough and authoritative.

"This is our new detective. Help them out and get them up to speed with our current case. Ah, but first—go ahead and introduce yourself, new detective."

All eyes are on you. Rebecca Jones watches you as if trying to decipher an algorithm. Phineas Caldwell’s eyes dig into you, reading everything unspoken. Preston Highmore finally looks up, his interest piqued. Tristan Halberg and Gabriela Batista remain still, attentive. Hannah Lockwood scans you from head to toe. One thing is clear. They’re all waiting. So what are you waiting for? Go and introduce yourself.
